Some love stories are written in the stars, and some begin in unexpected places, like halfway across the world. Jane and Michael met in Switzerland, where both were living for work.

When the pandemic hit, they decided to stay. What started as a temporary arrangement turned into something truly special. Spending that time together helped them realize they were meant for each other.

From Switzerland with love. Next chapter? Moving back to the US.

When I first connected with Jane and Michael, they were still living in Switzerland and preparing for a big move back to the United States. Life was moving quickly for them. They were getting ready to relocate, start a new chapter, and plan a wedding all at once.

We scheduled a few Zoom calls to get to know each other. Even through the screen, I could see how deeply connected and kind they were. After just a few conversations, the decision was made. We were going to work together and tell their love story through photography.

A thoughtful approach to wedding photography.

Jane and Michael were very open about what mattered to them. More than anything, they wanted to feel comfortable in front of the camera and keep the day natural and relaxed.

As they shared with me after the wedding, “We didn’t want the day to feel like one long photo shoot. We just wanted it to feel natural, which it ultimately did.”

They weren’t interested in overly staged, typical wedding images. They loved a mix of formal portraits and real, candid moments that reflected who they truly are. They also wanted to work with someone who understood their personalities and would give them space to enjoy their day.

Our engagement session was a turning point. A few simple prompts, like a dip or a twirl, were all they needed to relax and have fun. By the time their wedding day arrived, everything felt effortless and easy.

The wedding day. Elegant, understated luxury.

Jane and Michael’s wedding at Tappan Hill Mansion was simply stunning. The venue’s sunset views are unmatched. Warm golden light poured across the lawn, wrapping everything in the most romantic glow.

Every detail reflected their elegant taste. The florals were exquisite, the cake looked like a piece of art, and the décor was timeless. It was not about over-the-top grandeur. It was about quiet, intimate luxury, beautiful food, and creating an atmosphere where every guest felt welcome.

The energy that day was joyful, relaxed, and full of love.

Why it worked so beautifully?

When Jane and Michael reflected on their experience, they shared something that truly touched me.

“Basically, we just felt comfortable with you and we really liked your work. Your work is on a different level than many others we were looking at. Once we met with you over video chat while we were living in Switzerland, it became a pretty easy choice.”

They also mentioned how much they appreciated the organization behind the scenes.

“You made sure that there was time carved out for all the must-take photos so that none would be missed. Your staff checked everything off the list. It was possibly the most efficient manner we’ve ever seen during a wedding.”

I take great pride in creating a space where couples can relax and fully enjoy their day, knowing their memories are being captured with care and precision.

A celebration to remember.

Jane and Michael’s wedding was a beautiful blend of timeless romance, understated elegance, and heartfelt connection. It was such a joy to work with them, from our first Zoom call across continents to their unforgettable celebration in Westchester.
