Styled luncheon at MiMA, Manhattan 2019

Styled luncheon at MiMA organized by Tatiana Valerie

In the beginning of May 2019 Tatiana Valerie at Artvesta Studio and Raul Gamboa at Food Design Conceptual Events collaborated on creating a styled shoot that would showcase and capture the elaborate culinary creations of Raul’s company and would also entertain a handful of top NYC event professionals.

“If we are going to prepare delectable meals for the shoot, maybe we could invite our close industry friends to enjoy them?”, said Raul. This is how the idea of a styled luncheon came to life. The rest is history.

I reached out to Olha at Sense Of Moment for help with brainstorming. The task we faced was exciting! We wanted to create a small and intimate event where our guests could relax, enjoy some gourmet dishes and reconnect while sharing that unique experience.

The event was going to take place at a private event space on West 42nd St. That alone presented a challenge because of the space’s non-commercial nature and therefore limitations. For instance, Olha’s signature design style incorporates candles but the building did not allow using any kind of candles under any circumstances.

The project seemed to be growing bigger and more complex every day, but everything worked out picture-perfect! Kudos to our wonderful event partners:

BrideLux 2019 at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park London, UK

The extravagance of BrideLux 2019 at Intercontinental Barclay hotel in NYC inspired me to attend their next event in London. From the newest trends in bridal fashion to the most elaborate chef’s desert creations, finest champagne and authentic French macarons, lavish floral arrangements, inspiring table settings and elegant entertainment, BrideLux was a luxury wedding planning dream.

At the event, I had the pleasure of speaking with a few remarkable local event professionals including Tina Patel. She is the owner and creative director of Sugar Box Events, a boutique company specializing in creating custom desert walls for weddings and events.

Tina’s main inspiration is her clients themselves. Her company offers countless desert options that are incredibly intricate and customizable to the event’s color scheme and theme as well as clients’ cultural backgrounds.

BrideLux is an amazing platform that allows individuals in the event planning industry to connect with top luxury event professionals from around the globe. Participating in a BrideLux event is truly a unique and valuable opportunity. I have had the pleasure of being a part of a BrideLux event in the past and I am excited to have the chance to participate in more of these events in the future.

In addition to providing a way for professionals to network and exchange ideas, BrideLux also offers a range of resources and tools for those planning luxury events. From expert insights and inspiration to exclusive product demonstrations and vendor showcases, BrideLux has everything a luxury event planner could need. Whether you are a seasoned pro or just starting out in the industry, BrideLux is a must-attend event for anyone looking to elevate their event planning skills, enrich their professional network and gain industry knowledge.

New York fashion week preview at The Ravel hotel

On the eve of the New York bridal fashion week, October 3rd, 2018, event professionals community had a big celebration at the luxurious Ravel hotel in Long Island City. The elaborate celebration featured exquisite gowns by Kleinfeld Bridal, Pnina Tornai, Randy Fenoli, Jaclyn Jordan, Sarah Jassir, Designer Loft, Yumi Katsura, and Galia Lahav. The after party at the reception room of the hotel was so much fun and some might even call it over the top! The abundance of delectable foods and beverages, top-notch bar staff and DJ made it the party to remember for the crème de la crème of the New York event industry folks.

As always, the room was full of familiar faces…some of them were VERY familir, such as Randy Fenoli, an American television presenter and fashion designer who is mainly known for his work on Wedding Dresses and his own TV Show Randy’s Wedding Rescue and Say Yes to the Dress.

Cream Blossoms brought delectable, unique floral cupcakes that are to pretty to eat. BUT those fluffy, moist cupcakes filled with blueberries and topped with heavenly edible buttercream flowers were simply too good to resist!

Spring & Social provided the stunning table florals incorporating red ranunculus, white peonies, and blue sea hollies. The floral artist masterfully played with soft pastel colors and the assertive red to perfectly blend them into elegant fragrant harmony.
The Grand Bevy, the guru of spirits and signature cocktails, provided the signature refreshing cocktail:

1.5 oz Rye Whiskey
2 oz Hibiscus Tea
0.5 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
0.5 oz Blueberry syrup
1.5 oz Blueberries (muddled)
Fresh Mint
Fresh Tarragon

Cheers!

And last but not least, Tatiana Valerie at Artvesta Studio documented the shoot. Please enjoy the photos and the video and Happy 4th of July!!!

Princeton Club of New York – Zeta Psi Founders Day – New York 2012-2014

On May 31st, 2014 I photographed The Third Annual NYC Zeta Psi Founder’s Day Banquet in celebration of Zeta Psi’s Founding 167years ago. Hosted by Zeta Psi NYC Regional Alumni Wine Club (RAWC), the event was held at the prestigious Columbia University Club of New York (in residence of the Princeton Club of New York).

This is my third year photographing this event and it has been wonderful watching it grow. Events like this are always full of great interactions and I always do my best to capture at least a few great photo journalistic shots.

Photo above: due to a very limited space, I had to utilize my fish-eye lens to fit all 120 people into the photo!

I always take a lot of traditional shots, “table shots”, photos of details, and a few photo journalistic photos to fully preserve memories of an event.

Photo below is from the Founders Day celebration 2013. The two brothers are looking at printed photos from the 2012 event and sharing their memories. My mission is accomplished.

Special thanks to Stephen Halperin for putting together such a fantastic event and for making me a part of the celebration.
